While preparing for Nike's WC18 offering, my team and I were tasked with bringing the complete athlete journey to life, focusing on key football moments. We aimed to translate these moments into the design of game-day kits, utilizing Nike's signature innovation and style to disrupt the scene uniquely. The visual concept, 'Speed Blur,' was introduced to house disruptive innovation throughout the tournament, emphasizing engineered knits with the expertise of our lead knit designer.
My role included designing game-day kits, training apparel, and uniforms for Nike's global federation and club partners. Collaborating across various assets and identities, I strategized the visual aesthetics for numerous teams. Significant travel, quality control checks at factories, and collaboration with graphic design teams were essential aspects of my responsibilities. Managing relationships and aligning perspectives among different teams contributed to the successful culmination of our efforts in delivering awe-inspiring products to the market.
In WC18, our team focused on creating a cohesive athlete journey, extending from the national anthem moment to the on-pitch look. The 'speed blur' concept embodied impactful kit innovation, reflecting the dynamic energy of the game.
